researchtrends Newsletter

researchtrends, published by Scopus is now in Issue 3. It has some interesting things to say about the measurement of research output/quality, including a short piece raising the question as to what extent measurement distorts publishing behaviour. Perhaps proof of Goodhart's Law, when something is measured its information value diminishes. From the comparative foothills of a 'new university' you can also find out how well UK universities are doing in the THES World Rankings. There is an option to subscribe to researchtrends as an e-mail.
